I, Gloria Poole, [Reg Nurse and artist, etc] drew this yesterday with archival ink onto a 9 x 12 inch sketchpad of mine. I signed it, photographed it, uploaded it, and posted it to this blog of mine which is an PUBLIC SERVICE blog of mine to help people find day trip sort of entertainments, music and festivals. It is the time of year when squirrels are foraging for food, and I like to watch them. I drew this using the Missouri Conservation magazine as a reference photo since my own photos of squirrels were not close up enough to draw from. I was afraid of scaring them with camera. I add art I create to this blog on occasion and or photos I photograph, but always words I write. Those are my fingers on the lower left edge of paper. "Eleven Bettendorf High School students were recently accepted to the Iowa All-State Ensembles. This is the 69th anniversary of the Iowa All-State Music Festival sponsored by the Iowa High School Music Association and the Iowa Music Educators Association. District auditions for the 279-piece All-State Band, 198-piece All-State Orchestra and 601-member All-State Chorus were held in October. Approximately 17 percent of the students who audition are selected for membership through a rigorous audition process.

In Virginia : "A holiday tradition in Onancock, Virginia continues this year with the Cokesbury Christmas Music Festival on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 2 to 6 p.m.

And I listened to music while I drew sketches in a little 3 x 5 inch sketchbook, as practice to be able to draw that small to re-size some art I created in original size of about 20 x 24 inch. And I listened again to some of these songs, and I think they're all wonderful.

This photo was photographed by my oldest daughter Jennifer who gave it to me and I have it framed. So I rephotographed it as a digital because I had done that before on one of my cell phones which unfortunately had a Microsoft file on it as an app, that has been nothing but aggravation forever! . The reason I am adding it here today, is because I have to identify to Microsoft that this is ME, so they stop trying to lock me out of my own cell phone and or little computer. I also have a big desktop computer that is not Microsoft, and tables that are also not Microsoft. I have posted different photos of me at different times and they are scattered throughout my blogs and sites. My most recent selfie is the one with my hair in lop-sided pony tail that is on most of my blogs.

Probably the entire world recognizes the face of Tim Tebow. I am grateful for this photo he or his agent sent to me to an email of mine. One thing I love about Tim Tebow is his Christian witness is unfailing whatever he does, and for that reason, and many others, I am happy to add his photo here. Festivals on beaches, and odd fish sketch painted today by me Gloria Poole,RN,artist of /in Missouri

I drew this with watercolor pencils and then painted it with a wet brush. Some of the festivals are taking place in exotic places with beaches so I thought these fish might stoke an interest in those places. I signed this, photographed it, uploaded it and posted it to this blog of mine today 14th June 2016 at 4:58pm. I missed some of the festivals [that happened this past weekend] so this is not a complete list of all festivals around the world by any means. But viewers may be able to find a festival near you and this will give you the basic info. 1) Beach Beats Fest at Palawan Green on Sentosa [Singapore] coming up.

"The inaugural festival will be held on National Day and it will feature English DJ-producer-singer Mark Ronson, Dutch DJ and producer Sam Feldt, Singapore indie singer-songwriter Charlie Lim as well as from Australia, singer-songwriter Hayden James and beat-maker Ta-ku....The green turf along the beach will play host to what has been billed by the organisers as a carnival with "top-notch music and an exciting pool of activities".

5) Univ of Minnesota seeking acts for their Arts Quarter Festival Oct 5th but deadline to apply is July 8th festival : "The Arts Quarter Festival is accepting proposals for art exhibitions and musical, dance, theatrical performances on the West Bank. All University of Minnesota students, faculty, or groups are eligible to apply. Faculty-student collaborations are strongly encouraged....

Who and what is eligible?

Any University of Minnesota student or faculty may apply to participate

Any type of artwork (painting, photography, sculpture, prints, 2D, 3D, graphic design, video, motion graphics), theatre, dance, or musical performance

Participants can exhibit or perform at many indoor and outdoor spaces on the West Bank in the Arts Quarter

Performances cannot run longer than 60 minutes.

This is my selfie [Gloria Poole,RN, artist] in spring 2014 but I look the same except that I am thinner and my hair is longer but I still put it in lop-sided pony tail when I walk about or create art to prevent hair from blowing into my eyes or into paint.That is also me that you see in the "about me" box on right side of this blog and I am wearing a dark grey winter wool hat because that photo was taken of me in state of Georgia in Jan 2010 and my family in Georgia saw me wearing that hat and so did other people. So I am leaving that photo also on this blog for that reason.
